I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas holiday!

Right before Christmas, I ordered a new Cricut cartridge: Christmas Cheer.
I was feeling a bit ambitious today and just had to show you what I did with it!

We'll make some cards too (one will be the criss-cross card below) . . . don't forget to mark your calendars for January 23rd @ 6:30P! The cost is $10 or $18, if you'd like to make two of everything.

Perpetual Calendar Workshop

Hey there ladies!

Well, we had the Perpetual Calendar Workshop, last Friday night. Funny . . . you have five gals and every calendar starts off the same, but each of them end up looking different?! All of them were so very cute! I should have taken a picture of each one of them, before they left. I'll know better next time. This is a pictures of Theresa's calendar.

Don't forget to leave comments, or follow this blog, for a chance to win a Doodlecharms pad of paper and two rolls of tacky tape (the red stuff). The drawing is on 1/1/09 @ 12P.

It's so feeling a lot like Christmas tonight. Terry and I are baking and wrapping presents! We're making stuffed croissants & stuffed jalapenos
. . . along with our boys favorite . . . Snowman Poop! :o)

We're having our traditional family
Christmas Eve dinner, boiled shrimp & baby potatoes! Our parents started this tradition, when we moved to Kansas City . . . I hate to say this . . . 40 years ago! :o) After dinner, the four of us used get in the car and drive around to all the Christmas light displays. Thinking of those memories put a big smile on my face and some tears too . . . of missing our Mom during this time of year, who passed away in 2004. Now, our Dad is remarried to LaDonna and we're starting/adding new traditions, along with our old ones too. It's all about family and friends, during this time of year.

Moms are the glue to families and traditions. Oh come on . . . let's face it . . . if it wasn't for Moms . . . our fellas would be happy making grilled cheese sandwiches, Mac-n-Cheese, sittin' around drinking some beer, and having belching contests all night! I guess it's whatever makes you happy, right? If that's your traditional Christmas Eve, I didn't mean to offend you!
(smiling)

Whatever your family Christmas tradition, may you be surrounded by love and your memories make you smile.

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Cards

I hope you've had a wonderful week!

It's pretty hectic around here, as I'm sure it is in every household right now! Our boys are counting the days until Santa comes! If you have little ones at your house, you can go out to Norad's website and track Santa's location! I highly recommend it! You can even call too, I believe the phone number is on the website somewhere!

Here is a picture the Christmas cards we're sending out this year. I started these cards, back in October, during the CKU afternoon crop. Here it is two days until Christmas . . . and I'm addressing the last of them.

We decided, just the other day, to put pictures of our boys inside . . . so that kind of slowed up the process. Gee, a whole year of pictures . . . which ones do you choose? We decided on their birthday pictures, since of course they had HUGE smiles on their faces.

I used the Stampin' Up Scalloped Edge punch and the Cuttlebug Sledding folder. I ran the card front through the embossing folder and then once again with only a cream colored piece of paper (1.5" x 2"), placed on the snowman. I watercolored the snowman and then pop-dotted him on the card. I tied cream ribbon on the majority of them, but did some with jute. Kind of liked 'em both.

I sure had alot of fun creating these cards . . .

Have a wonderful day/evening!

Binder Clips

Happy Wednesday!

There is a group of five of us gals that get together quarterly. We've all worked together, over the years, for about 16 years. We used to meet on a Friday night, but as kids grow up . . . their social lives start taking over the Friday nights (with football games, parties, etc). So . . . we have lately been meeting quarterly at a local theater on a Sunday afternoon. We saw "A Tuna Christmas" just this past Sunday . . . it's hilarious and the two fellas acting in it did an awesome job! We laugh so hard, when we get together . . . I so enjoy meeting up with these girlfriends.

I made each of the gals one of these little binder clips, to use as a recipe holder or a picture holder. Purchase the biggest binder clip (2" wide). You need to cut a piece of paper 2" x 3.25" and adhere it to the clip. If the paper is thin enough, it'll fit under each of the rounded edges . . . if it's thicker, you might not be able to slip it under the rounded edge. So be sure to "dry fit" it, before you start gluing.

I used Deer Friends hostess stamp set and the scallop punch, along with the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches.

Tie a ribbon around the bottom (around both of the clip part) and viola, you're done! Cute little gift . . . this would be a great little thing to make for a school bazaar or a craft show.

Only one week until Christmas! I've gotta get busy, finishing up the Christmas shopping and baking!

Enjoy your week!

8 Simple Signs Your Wife Scrapbooks/Stamps

My husband found this on the Internet, the other day, and couldn't resist sending it to me . . . wonder why? :o)

8 Simple Signs your wife scrapbooks/stamps:

1. Your wife says she is going to a crop and you expect her to come home with vegetables.
2. You ask where the glue is and she looks at you with a blank stare until you say adhesive.
3. Your wife has been accused of scraplifting and you ask her when her court date is.
4. You are excited when your wife tells you that she is swapping with her friends. Only to find out later that it means something completely different than you thought.
5. You get excited when your wife tells you that she got a job doing something she loves, only to find out that she makes less than illegal aliens!
6. Your wife plans family events because she wants to make a scrapbook page about it.
7. Scrap area is clean and organized, rest of the house . . . not so much.
8. 40% off coupons in the paper on Sunday = 40% more spending.

Hope you enjoyed! Go ahead . . . tell me that you don't fall under any/all of the eight above!

Post-it Note Holders

Theresa & Tammy (my sister and her friend), came over this past weekend and we made 'lil post-it note holders . . . until 3:00A on Saturday morning! We each made eight of them. Didn't they turn out cute? They hold a 3"x3" post it note pad perfectly! We cut the cardboard 4"x4", covered all the sides, and cut out the initials with the Cricut Storybook cartridge.

Stampin' Up! retired stamp sets:
Available until January 18th . . . get 10% off through December 23rd, on any of the retired stamp sets. Discounts are applied at checkout AND there is free shipping on orders over $70!

Theresa wasn't kidding, when she said she was jumping up and down! I wish I would have taken a picture of it! She was pretty excited! Theresa received an acrylic stamp set and a two-ring binder. I started looking mine over on Saturday, thinking there should be some way that I could fit all my acrylic stamps in this! Well . . . I came up with a way! I used transparencies and a roll of the "magic" red tape! I put a cute little tab (Round Tab Punch, a Stampin' Up! punch), just so separate the categories. There are some 'lil pages that have two pockets on them! Yes, I know . . . really teetering on the edge, on that one aren't I?! I have a few more empty 2 ring binders, if you'd like to buy one . . . they are $3.40/each. I made a little 5"x7" cover page . . . so when the book is closed, you just don't just see the stamps.

FYI . . . you should be scared, by Theresa's comment! Good luck to you . . . 'cause she's serious now about winning another promotion! :o)

Good luck and thanks for visiting the Craft Room!

Making your Cricut mat sticky again . . .

In some peoples eye, knowing that I'm a ProvoCraft wholesaler . . . some might look at this as a lost sale . . . but in my eyes, a knowledgeable customer is a happy customer! ;o)

I found this YouTube video, on how to make your Cricut mats sticky again! DON'T THROW THEM AWAY ANYMORE! Just so happens that I didn't throw away the last two that I had . . . I was trying to find another use for them . . . guess that worked out to my advantage! WAHOO!

All you need is Zig 2 Way glue and your old mat! Don't use the Glue Pen . . . you'll be there forever! Be sure to get the Jumbo Tip, this will make it go alot faster! I believe any of the local retail craft stores have these.

Enjoy!

p.s. Don't forget to turn in our November promotion answers; you have until December 5th!

Crafting Coupon Organizer

Today is our FIRST real snow, in Kansas City! Snow definitely puts you in the Christmas spirit! I might yonder out later, to do some shopping?!

As you may know, Theresa (my sister) has just started into paper crafting. I've been keeping my retail coupons in a little envelope in my purse. My envelope is now breaking down! So, I thought about making her a little accordion book, to put the coupons in. Once I was done, I thought if I make it into a little book . . . using the Zutter? So, I made one for myself also . . . they're made out of a manilla file folder! Didn't they came out kind of cute?! I'm needing to do a bit more embellishing, like adding ribbon on the one with the wire binding.

Theresa purchased the Stampin' Up!'s Country Living Holiday Collection Stampin' Kit. Guess she was in the Christmas spirit too, because she sent me pictures of her mantle. Didn't all the little ornaments come out cute? We couldn't find the little pearls that were on the Stampin' Up! website, but we found some icicle garland at Old Time Pottery. The kit is available through December 31st.

Hope you're having a wonderful day! Let it snow . . . Let it snow . . . Let it snow!

The Cricuteer group is having a crop this Saturday, at the Fraternal Order of Police Hall in KCK. The cost is $50/day and we divide it evenly, amongst who shows up. The doors open @ 9:00A - 11:59P! Last time, we had 13 gals . . . we paid less than $4 for a whole day of cropping!

Just wanted to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!

One month from today . . .

I hope you've had a fantastic week!

I can't believe it! Christmas is exactly one month from today! ARGH! Oh my, I just don't feel prepared yet! I've gotta be hitting the Toys-R-Us website pretty hot-n-heavy here pretty soon!

We're having a Fill-In promotion! Our drawing will be December 5th @ 7:00P. Be
sure to click on the "What's New" button, on our website. Be sure to e-mail your answers to me at pmfullbright@everestkc.net! Anyone that e-mails the correct answers will be entered into the drawing, for a Simply Chic Fun Flower acrylic stamp set (see left) and a 2-ring storage binder!

One of the other Stampin' Up! demonstrators had a watercolor class a week ago. She, better known as Peggy #1 in our Downline group, is an awesome artist when it comes to Gamsol! Peggy kept telling us that it was easy . . . so I went to her watercolor class. You know what?! She was right! Once you get the hang of it, it's alot of fun too! Anyone want to place a bid for a used Aquapen? :o) Here's what I colored . . . I swear, if I was a peacock, my tail-feathers would be all fanned out! YES, I acutally painted these all by myself! Peggy is an awesome teacher! She's planning on having another watercolor class in January . . . I would highly recommend going! Here's a link to her blog. Be sure to check back often, for the next class date!

We made my nephew's birthday invitations this past weekend. He's really into Clone Wars . . . so of course . . . he wanted a Clone Wars invitation. I did some play on Clone Wars wording, on his invitation and made a pop-up card. Can't wait to hear if/how people opened the invitation! Guess if they don't show up . . . they weren't able to open the card, huh?

Stampin' Up! is having a Holiday Extravaganza, starting tomorrow through December 1st! Be sure to check out my Stampin' Up! Online Store, to see the Extravaganza bundles!

I hope you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

More Christmas Gifts

Look out . . . we're on a roll!

Theresa (my sister) and Tammy (a friend of Theresa's) came over last weekend and we made these cute 'lil treat canisters . . . aren't they just the cutest? Here's the original design, that we scraplifted from Archiver's. I got the jars at Old Time Pottery for $3.99, for 3 jars! The ones at Archiver's are $9, for 3 jars, but they're also about 3 times the size too. I am going to put either Christmas candy or Homemade Hot Chocolate mix. It'd be enough for about 4 cups or so.

I used the Coluzzle, to cut out the ovals, and the Storybook Cricut cartridge, for the lettering. On the lettering, I got double-sided paper and used the background and the letting out of the same side . . . then flipped it over to the other side, for the top background. Got alot of use out of a 12x12 piece of paper, that's for sure! Between the paper and the jars, I spent about $2/jar . . . not counting whatever we put inside.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Starting on Christmas Gifts

Hello again! I hope you've had a wonderful week!

I can't believe it's about six weeks until Christmas! Where has the year gone?

Theresa (right) and Jenny (left) came over Saturday night and we finished up all our Santa paint cans, for our family, friends, and teachers. We had an assembly line goin' on this 'lil guys and got all 11 of 'em done (minus the embellishments of ribbon on each of them). Didn't they turn out cute?

Theresa ended up staying until about 2:00A. Once we were done with the cans, we started working on Christmas cards. We'd seen a card on the Internet that she liked, so we came up with the mock-up of it. I think her cards came out really cute. It was quite the challenge . . . the stamps that were originally used, were all retired Stampin' Up! stamp sets. Thank goodness for eBay, huh?!

If you haven't started Christmas shopping, making Christmas cards, or Christmas crafts . . . no time like the present?! Get on it girls!

I was out on Karol's website, www.homesweethomeinspiration.blogspot.com, tonight and she wrote about a free music website . . .
www.accuradio.com/holidays. I dare you to listen! If this doesn't get you in the Christmas mood, nothing will!

Want some easy Christmas ornaments/ideas? Check out www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/peggyfullbright/misc3. The video, by Shelli Gardner (Cofounder and CEO of Stampin' Up!), is very informative and shows how easy it is! For $55.50, you can create ALOT of cute gifts, click here to look at the kit in more detail!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Coaster Desk Calendar

Hope you've had a wonderful week!

Theresa (my sister), Bruce (her husband), Terry (my husband) and I went to the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday. We realized that it was the first time that the four of us had been out, "SC" (since children)! Their oldest is going to be eight years old in December! WOW! Although the Chiefs lost, in overtime, we had a wonderful time spending time together!

I couldn't resist showing off our kids, as toddlers, on my "Coaster Desk Calendar". This is a workshop I am having in my craft room, next Friday - November 14th at 6:30P. The cost is $10, once you've completed the calendar, all you have to do is add the picture! This is a great opportunity to start making something for Grandma and/or Grandpa at Christmas time! If you'd like to join us, please RSVP by next Wednesday (11/12).

Last Saturday, there were 13 of us that rented a local hall and cropped ALL day! We had a bunch of fun. My sister is turning into quite the 'lil crafter! Here is a picture of our newest Christmas project. We're going to give these to our son's teachers and friends & family. Didn't they turn out cute? The girls were jokin' around and started a small auction for the cans, during the crop too . . . I believe the price got up to over $30! :o) Do I hear any higher bids? (just kidding)

Thank you for stopping by the Craft Room!

Happy Halloween!

BOO! Hope you've had a wonderful week!

Okay . . . my sister made the 1 gallon Frankenstein paint cans, a few weeks ago (see below), right? Well . . . look at what I came up with . . . I used vegetable cans! I used ZipDry, to glue the eyes, to make sure they'd stay in place. Waiting for the glue to dry was fun . . . kinda like watching paint dry! :o)

We have one of those can openers that won't pop a balloon (oh come on, you've seen the infomercial), so using the lid is safe. If you don't have one of these, I highly recommend getting one! We put some candy it them and are going to give them to the boys teachers.

I cut out some 1.25" spiders and glued them on a Nestabilities scalloped circle. I used a clear gel pin, to simulate the spider's web. Made 38 of these 'lil guys . . . all made with love . . . right? :o) Terry, my husband, even cut out some of the Nestabilities circles for me! Made it go alot quicker! What a guy!

Tomorrow is a busy day! We have a Preschool Halloween parade @ 10:00A and then the Kindergarten Halloween parade @ 1:30P! Should be a fun day though!

Hope you, and your family, have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Wedding Cards

Hope you've had a wonderful weekend!

My Dad and StepMother are celebrating their first anniversary today! Here is the anniversary card I made for them. This is my favorite picture of them, from their wedding day. Congratulations LaDonna & Dad!!

A friend of mine asked me to come up with a wedding card for her.
This is what I came up with . . . I purchased the "Love Forever" embossed paper at Joann's and the SU (Stampin' Up!) So Swirly jumbo roller with Vanilla ink on the vellum (on the bottom of the vellum only).

I must have a thing for vellum, when it comes to wedding cards, huh?!

Thanks for stopping by the craft room!

Baby Boy Card

Hope you've had a wonderful week! Our youngest nephew celebrated his sixth birthday today! Happy Birthday Brent!

I made this card for a "couples" baby shower, that we went to on Sunday. I "scraplifted" the layout of this card off one of the cards on SplitCoastStampers website, created by Jeannie1862. Can I tell you how excited my husband was, going to a "couples" baby shower! :o) Honestly, he was a pretty good sport about it.

Anyway . . . the new Mom was opening up all the gifts, up until they got to our gift. Then she had the new Dad open a few of the gifts. Of course I was thinking to myself, "Oh great, he's not going to appreciate this card as much as she would . . ." Boy, was I wrong! He was really spending time looking at it, flipped it over and I noticed that I made it! He started ranting and raving about how pretty it was! He immediately started passing our card around, I think it got passed around before our gift did! :o) We later found out that he works for a stamping manufacturer out in California! What are the odds?!

It was the first baby shower, for our boys . . . they had a great time eating cake and drinking sherbet punch. You know how relieved Terry, my husband, was when there were no baby shower games too?! :o)

Thank you Jeannie1862, for the inspiration! Here's a link to her original card, that I scraplifted. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1064228?cat=10590 If you're not a member of SplitCoastStampers, I'd highly recommend it! You can get some great ideas there, when you're having a "creative block"!

Hope you have a crafty week! Thanks for stopping by the craft room!

October Promotion Winner!

Thank you to everyone who entered our October promotion. Our October promotion winner is (drum roll please) . . . . Karol Harrison! She's won the Halloween "Boo to You" Cuttlebug embossing folder!

Be sure to sign up to get on our e-mail list . . . this is how we announce our monthly promotions! Our November promotion will be announced soon.

I just had to share with you what I've done this weekend! I've had such a "crafting" weekend! My sister sent me an e-mail on Thursday, to a link on Martha Stewart's website . . . she stated in her e-mail, ". . . aren't these cute? Do you think we could make them?" Me turn down a night to craft? NO WAY! I told her of course and she came over last night and we created some Halloween candy coffins! Didn't they turn out cute? Martha had all black coffins, with a "Beware" sticker on them. Her coffins were cute . . . but the coffins Theresa and I made turned out pretty darn cute!

Today, was our Cricuteer crop @ Jenny's house. Her husband cooked an absolute fabulous appetizer and meal for all of us! Theresa, my sister, joined us too! We went up to a local scrapbook store, where they were having a free Make & Take . . . we thought it'd be a good break in the day. This was Theresa's first official crop AND Make & Take. While we were there, Theresa saw a Frankenstein paint tin . . . she brought everything for it and when we came back, she started makin' her Frankenstein . . . she what she created? Isn't it the cutest? She wanted to create some Christmas candy boxes too . . . so I drew up a template for her and she went to town on these too! We've come to the conclusion that she LOVES glitter . . . I have to admit, the stickers were cute . . . but she make 'em down right gorgeous with "glitter bling" added.

Laurie showed us this glitter stuff from www.PKGlitz.com and oh my gosh . . . if you like glitter, be sure to check it out! There is this sticky paper, that you place your brass embossing plates on, and then you add glitter. When you pull the brass plate off, it leaves the glitter on there very neatly and then you add even MORE glitter (to make the whole sheet of paper not sticky)! It's a must, for you "glitter bling girls"!

Here are some other pictures, of all the Cricuteers hard at work!
Jenny and her oldest daughter, Samantha (below left) - Cyndi and Theresa (below top/right) - Laurie and oldest daughter, Claire (below bottom/right). Guess who the non-Cricuteer is?!

Again, congrats and enjoy Karol!

CKC-KC

Okay, my friends were calling me a nerd this weekend @ Creating Keepsakes Convention . . . but I have my reasons! Well . . . we started our CKC experience on Thursday afternoon, with the afternoon crop. Believe it or not, we did get alot of crafting done (around all of our "girl talk").

As you may know, I am an avid Scrapbook Memories fan (I DVR it everyday). I do this because of the ideas I get when watching it. On Friday, it was "class" day in the morning and vendor fare in the afternoon for most of us. I got a bit teary-eyed on the way to the convention; thinking about how if my Mom (who passed away in 2004) was still here, I knew she would have been there with us. So although I was excited about the classes I was taking, I was a bit solemn as I walked up to the convention hall. Well . . . I had a smile on my face soon! There, once we walked in the door, was Stacy Croninger (Editor-in-Chief of Paper Crafts Magazine)! Stacy guest-hosts sometimes with Beth and Julie, on Scrapbook Memories. I was absolutely star struck! I asked for her autograph and then a friend took a picture of us! My Mom used to say that "everything happens for a reason". I can't help but think that my Mom had a little hand in my meeting Stacy, to help put the smile back on my face. :o)

In the classes I took, I made a chipboard
accordion book , six cards, and cardstock accordion book. The two accordion classes were my favorite. I didn't notice the trend I had with accordion books, until I got my class schedule back. Luckily they were/are very cute and on placed on my little craft shelf!

Us gals had a blast attending classes, cropping, and of course . . . shopping!
I will definitely be attending CKC again next year!

Have a wonderful week!

Welcome Baby Girl

We have a new neighbor across the street . . . one with 10 little fingers & toes . . . Caroline. Let their sleepless nights begin! :o) I found this template on the Stampin' Up website and couldn't pass up the chance to make a little girl card! I just thought it was just so darn cute. If you have a Fiskars circle punch, it'd go alot easier and quicker!

If you'd like the template, e-mail me at pmfullbright@MyCraftCottage.net and I'll send the .pdf template to you.

I recently signed up to be a Stampin' Up Demonstrator! I have found that I combine the Stampin' Up and ProvoCraft products so often, that I've decide to sell both! Be sure to check my Stampin' Up calendar, for upcoming events and classes @ www.peggyfullbright.stampinup.net!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Talk to 'ya on Tuesday!
