Sissy's Birthday!

Theresa, you have grown into a beautiful woman! You're a terrific sister, Mom, wife, and friend! Who would have thunk, when this picture was taken, that 40+ years later . . . we'd be married and have BOYS!? ;o)

Even though we don't see each other everyday, we still share a closeness that only sisters can. I always know that I can call you when I need a laugh, or when I need to cry.
Thank you, for being my sister . . . but mostly, for being my friend. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTER!

I love you Sissy,
Maggie/Peggy

p.s. This is Theresa (left) at 2 years old and me (left) at 4 years old. Weren't we just the cutest?! :o)

June Workshop

Hey there gals! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

The boys did great at their second swimming lesson yesterday. WAHOO! I do have to say that Alex and Shawn, their instructors, are wonderful with kids.

We had so much fun at my boss' house yesterday too! Justin liked his glass picture frame . . . once he opened it, he immediately went to show everyone. Bonnie, my boss' wife, brought out a box of their boys old GI Joe figures. Let me tell you, there were alot of wounded GI Joe's in that box . . . 'cause they were missing arms, arms, legs, and even heads! :o) We even went on a hay ride around their property! It was a great afternoon and it was nice of them to invite us out to their home.

We saw an RV sales place in Liberty, on the way to Mark & Bonnie's house, so we stopped by on the way home. The boys had SO much fun going from camper to camper. :o) Since they were already closed, alot of the higher priced campers were locked . . . but the boys still had to try every camper door. You should have seen their faces, when one of 'em wasn't locked . . . they smiled like they'd hit the jackpot or something. :o) TOO FUNNY!

Today, there are a group of us gals that get together quarterly . . . we have lunch and then go to a play at the American Heartland Theater. We've all worked together for a long time (17+ years), and we have a ball catching up.

Here's a picture of the workshop projects we're going to do on Friday! I have a little door prize for one of you lucky gals too! Hope everyone can make it!

I got the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog in the mail this week too! Oh my gosh . . . I swear there are so many new items, it's gonna make your socks go up and down! Those of you coming to the workshop, can sneak a peak at it!

Cards +

You know how sometimes you just see something and you're just saying, "holy cow"?! Well, Theresa did that to me today. Theresa was asked to pick up a birthday card, for her youngest son's baseball coach . . . she did one better! SHE MADE IT . . . and look at the job she did! I told you, "holy cow" . . . right?! :o) She got the idea from Dina's blog, one of our sidelines, but I love the way she changed it and made it her own! Sissy . . . you, Tammy, and Taylor did a fantastic job!

This weekend, Gary (my BIL), is going back to Colorado. You know . . . it's been kinda nice havin' him around these past few months. We're sure gonna miss the 'ole lug! :o) We have our second swimming lesson, on Saturday morning, and then my boss' oldest son graduated from high school . . . so we have his party to go to on Saturday night.

I'm getting some of the new Stampin' Up! stamp sets, these next few days! It's going to be like Christmas over here! WAHOO! I just can't wait! Terry's going to wonder if Stampin' Up! still has anything in the warehouse! :o)

Here are the cards I made for Amy's family. They're a bit larger than a normal card . . . so they can fit plenty of signatures and loving thoughts. The family has set up, in lieu of flowers, an account for Amy's children. Steff sent out a note to everyone in her group today, asking to take up a collection to the account. The envelope is at her desk and then then they'll sign the cards. My heart sure goes out to her family, especially her children.

Tell someone that you love them . . .

It's raining here, once again . . . it's been raining here all day! Oh how I love the smell of rain and the sounds of thunderstorms though! It's so calming and relaxing.

I got an e-mail from Michael's today. If you're not on their mailing list . . . I highly recommend it, especially if you have kids. They send you e-mails (from the Knack) with craft projects for kids! As a BONUS, sometimes they send you additional coupons! Today, they featured this cute Father's Day Tie card . . . isn't it cute?! I didn't color it, it's their illustration. :o) For the project instructions, click here.

We lost a dear co-worker at our office yesterday, to heart disease. She'd ran in a 4 mile run in April and then was in the hospital in mid-May. She'd had a bad heart, that she'd had since birth (without knowing). She was only 35 years old and they had two small beautiful kids. Today, her bother wrote the dearest note on her Caring Bridge page. I found myself in tears, while reading it this morning . . . but it's SO true!

Steff asked me to make a card, for her group to give to Amy's family. It's kind of difficult to come up with a big enough card, that about 60 people can sign . . . so I made two identical cards. I'll post the picture tomorrow. I feel honored that Steff asked me to make a card(s), for the family. Amy will be so missed, she was a peach of a gal!

Worlds of Fun + Birthday Card

Here's our motley crew at Worlds of Fun yesterday! We were there for SIX hours, but it was perfect . . . no lines, weather cooperated with us (got hot towards the end), and all the kids did very well!

I made a card for Katie (Terry's cousin), who has a birthday this month . . . hopefully she won't see this before she receives it in the mail! :o) I just love this
Cheers to You stamp set! For $17.95, it has 6 stamps, and I find it's very versatile (for those of us over 21)! I also used the Top Note Bigz die . . . one of my other favorites too, can you tell?!

Farmstead + Quick Tip

As you may know, we're having a fun-filled cousin/family weekend this weekend! Yesterday, I had took off work and we went to Deanna Rose Farmstead! We met up with Sheri, Gary, and Kaylee (cousin) and Katie and her daughter, Kaia (cousin). The group caught two fish, at the fishing pond, one by Kaylee and one by Terry! They were very small . . . but the excitement was if they were 10 pound fish! We stopped off at the barn, kind of the half-way point, and got some ice cream to cool off! Oh what fun we had! It's cute to watch the boys interact with their girl cousins. (L-R: Patrick, Kaia, Kaylee, Nathan)

Today, we have swimming lessons (our FIRST) at 11:30A and then we're meeting up with Sheri and Kaylee at an indoor water park. Tonight, we might go to Science City and see one of the 3D movies! Tomorrow . . . Sheri, Kaylee, Katie, Kaia, and the four of us are meeting up with the boy cousins, Theresa and her family, at Worlds of Fun! The boys are so excited for this time with all their cousins!

Theresa and I were surfing eBay and found Holiday Wishes (a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set) . . . once I saw it, I fell in
LOVE with it. I immediately knew that this would be in our Christmas card! This is just one of the stamps, isn't it a cute stamp?!

This morning, while everyone was asleep at our house, I decided to go downstairs and play! With the excitement, of using the stamp, I failed one important step when embossing . . . to use my Embossing Buddy! It's very similar to talcum powder, but it doesn't allow the embossing powder to stick to the paper. Click on the picture, can you see the difference? The one on the left has a silver haze around it . . . that's the left over embossing powder, that when I used the heat gun . . . stuck on the paper . . . BAD! For $5.95 . . . it's well worth the difference . . . the one on the right, definitely looks alot better! That's my little quick tip for the day!

Stampin Up! has alot of great June promotions going on too:

during the month of June, get your favorite discontinuing products—some up to 50% off—before they're gone forever!

Sick Household!

Okay . . . I'm finally starting to feel better! Coughing like there is no tomorrow, but I'm feeling better! Now though . . . Terry has it! I swear Patrick is our culprit . . . he's all cute and all lovey-dovey . . . but he's the one that started this! He only had the sniffles for one day though . . . for Terry and I, this is lasting a week! GEEZ . . . these cute little germ passers! :o)

Tomorrow, Terry's sister (Sheri) and bother-in-law (Rick) have been married for 37 years! Oh my! They're coming in for the weekend, so of course made them a card! :o) I'll never forget the first year we (Terry and I) gave them an anniversary card . . . Sheri looked at me and said "Thank you" . . . I said, "You're welcome, but it's from the both of us" . . . she said, "no thank YOU, because it's funny that I've never gotten an anniversary card from Terry before. It's because of you!"

Us women do play a great part in making our family and friends have warm fuzzies, on those special days . . . don't we? It's not something that our Moms tell us to do . . . as we grow up, it's just something that we automatically do it for the ones we love!

Here's a picture of Rick & Sheri, on their wedding day, leaving for their honeymoon. Take a look at their car . . . oh my! I would have hated to be the one to have to clean that car!! Get a load of Rick's sideburns too . . . oh Elvis! :o)

I'm taking Friday off of work . . . Sheri's oldest son (Ryan) an granddaughter (Kaylee) are coming in for the weekend too . . . we're going to do all the "family" things around Kansas City too. We're going to go to Deanna Rose Farmstead, Kansas City Zoo, and Worlds of Fun! Oh what a fun-filled weekend we're going to have!! I'll be sure to post the pictures!

Okay . . . I'm off to play "Mr. Mom" . . . since Terry isn't feeling well tonight! Wish me luck! :o) Thanks for stopping by my craft room!
